The key tasks are to:
Engage and Influence at all relevant levels of the Programme to ensure the patient and public perspective is effectively considered

Co-develop a set of principles with commissioners that will underpin all service model proposals developed as part of the Programme
Monitor and shape the work of the Clinical Working Groups
Ascertain the extent to which the Review is complying with the Secretary of State’s four criteria for reconfigurations, in particular the requirement for ‘strengthened public and patient engagement’ and report to the Programme Board
Regularly review progress against the patient engagement elements of the communications and engagement strategy and ensure this is kept on track
Test out and influence the development of communications and engagement materials and messages to ensure they are easily understood by the wider public
Ensure that the diversity of the population is recognised and engagement is responsive to the needs of the different communities in the South East Midlands
No hospitals will close. Northampton, Kettering, Milton Keynes, Luton & Dunstable and Bedford will all continue to provide most local services
All five hospitals will have an A&E and maternity service
Our first priority is safe, sustainable, high quality services
Our recommendations will be based on clinical evidence and local need
